The composer service, the one that made the linked clones, tracks every aspect of where the vm is. If you move anything it will go in an error state and be inaccessible.

You only have 2vms, I have 300 on different hosts, its a best practice to keep them seperate in production environments, to prevent any storage issues because of too many vmotions.
