Capacity tab and Capacity Analytics Generated Metric Flap

Running Vrealize 7.0

This is happening for VMs and Clusters.  Not all of them, but those that are close to
a cpu use threshold.

Doesn’t seem to be a problem for memory, just CPU.

The Capacity tab shows 1 year remaining for cpu, or 0 days. The
Capacity Analytics Generated Metric shows cpu days remaining oscillating
between 0 and 365, oscillating weekly, daily, to several times daily.

So basically the “Capacity” of a vm or cluster depends on
when you check it.  Low use mornings you’re
more likely to have 365 days of cpu left, but on the same vm or cluster,
noonish, you may have 0 days left.

Also, a vm may show up in the oversized vm report, showing
to remove cpu, while the same day the Capacity Analytics Generated Metric for
cpu days remaining will show 0.

The policy in use is fairly non customized, so I don’t think
it’s caused by policy changes.

Any thoughts on this?
I’d really like to be able to trust an oversized report without having
to manually check a vm.

Thanks for any help.
