We‘ve tried the newest drivers from dell today that came with the newest esxi 6.0u3 A14 dell iso (driver 1.7.11 with firmware 18.5.17) this combo is even more broken than every earlier version... if you have a 4 port nic every incoming packet is seen four times by the vmkernel i.e. ping something once on the esx cli and you get the response back 4 times... wtf... this of cause kills any kind of network connection with anything more than a few kbps of traffic after a few seconds (vmotions stall after 1-2 seconds for example and the host looses all network connectivity for a few seconds every ~2 minutes )... im just about done with intel & dell & vmware... why is this crap still on the hcl list...
We had to manually revert to the previous driver / firmware combination(1.5.6 with fw 18.3.6) those have been stable for our moderate workload for the past ~9 months, but we rarely have more than 2Gbits of traffic on our nics, from what i‘ve read others still have lots of issues with this combo.
