When you have two adapters on ESxo: in my case one Host only, and one Bridged to external network running on VMWare Fusion, and you do a "Restore Network settings" back yo factory default, sometimes it icks up Host only IP, but only until you restart the virtual machine..
When itv comes back up, ou see "both" adapters are checked as "managed" and IP had now changed to that of external network...
eg after restore in ESXi, you get 192,168.117.x which is Host only..
but after restart it goes to 192.168.1.x (Attached)
, In this case both would be DHCP., but shouldn't it get IP from 1st adapter, not second as that is the one in bridged mode? I guess this is depended on which adapter is managed >> Network adapters section, but on restart is seems BOTH are automatically checked but only looks atthe 2nd adapter to manage in some cases.
Anyone know why that happens? Also, sometimes this is the second time i get some mysterious domain that no longer exists.... I gave up trying to solve, but perhaps anyone could point me to why this 'legacy' domain happens.. First one in list
in the above case, test-46e.....was the VM machine name, so why can it all of a sudden be "managed" when technically its no even possible as it resides in the datastore?
