Thick lazy zeroed is not up your issue. You have snapshots running on the VM and these will have grown to almost the same size as the original VM.
You need to consolida these but before you do make sure you have free space on the datastore especially if you have multiple snapshots. Otherwise the VM should be shutdown before attempting.
